So my sleuthing friend Marty had an article in the Disturber today about the town attorney for Stallings getting busted for taking $180 from an old lady at Harris Teeter. PPS Tim and Hannah, we think you should name your dogs Mr. and Mrs. Asta after the dogs in the Thin Man movies. I hope you can get your hands on the movies in Peru!

Where is she?

I wish you could see Vivian in this picture, but she blends in too well with her pink camouflage Elmo overalls and Duke camouflage hat. Trust me when I tell you she was adorable in her hunting gear today. Next time Emily will wear a different color so you can see Vivy too.

Absolute Organics - additional note

A quick follow up to the rave review of Absolute Organics. Being the neurotic cheapskate that I am, I did some pretty detailed price comparisons before we signed up with Vonda. Many of the products are less expensive than the same products offered at Harris Teeter, especially grocery items like coffee and honey. For example, Larry's Beans (organic coffee) is about $1.50 cheaper through Vonda. However, the bottom line is an average 7% premium over the same basket of products at HT, or about $2.50 extra per box (3 week comparison in 2006). I think that's a good price to pay for (1) doorstep delivery, (2) a level of forced variety that helps our menu stay diverse, and (3) great recipes for the items in the box that week, e.g., carnival squash.

Absolute Organics

A few years ago Randy and I started making the move to eating more organically. Since we have both lost parents to cancer, we want to reduce the amount of weird chemicals we put in our bodies (and in Vivy's body too). So we started ordering organically grown fruits and vegetables through Absolute Organics.
